Tateishi Park

At this park, you can enjoy beautiful coastal scenery, including the unusually shaped "tateishi" rock that protrudes from the coast. The peculiar rock with the coastline and Mt. Fuji in the background is a particularly spectacular view and is worth a visit. Visiting during the magical moment that the sky is painted with the beautiful colors of the sunset is recommended. Tateishi has been a famous magnificent view since long ago, providing the scenery for the Edo period ukiyo-e artist Utagawa Hiroshige and his piece titled, "Saishu Miura Akiya no Sato," featuring Mt. Fuji in the distance. The park is well maintained, featuring colorful flowers such as white daffodils and red aloe, so it is nice when the flowers are in season.
