Mt.Kinugasa

This mountain has an altitude of 134m and is located in Kinugasa, Yokosuka city. After climbing up the moss-covered stairs, you will encounter a viewing platform emitting a somewhat mysterious aura. In addition, you will find Kinugasayama Park which boasts 2000 cherry blossom trees; it is one of the best cherry blossom sites in the prefecture. There is also a hiking course toward Mt. Miura and Ōgusuyama, where you can enjoy the wonderful nature of the Miura Peninsula. Next to Kinugasayama Park you will find the Kinugasa Castle Ruins, which was originally constructed in the 11th century and served as Miura’s base; the castle still retains traces of its original features.
