Koajiro Forest

At the cusp of the Miura Peninsula is a forest of around 70 hectares. Uranokawa flows from the bodies of water, located in the surrounding mountains, to along the valley in the middle of the forest. This is the only natural environment in the Kanto region where woods, wetlands, tidelands, and even the ocean is linked. The connection of forests, rivers, and sea is not only essential for the red-clawed crab, but the entire area also serves as the habitat for many animals, including rare species. The walking trails are well-maintained and you can enjoy the environmental transition from forest to tideland.
