Mt.Iyogatake

This mountain is located in the south of Bōso city and has an altitude of 336m. This mountain with exposed rock is a rare sight in Bōsō where there are numerous gentle-sloping mountains, and it is the only mountain in all of Chiba whose name includes the word “valley”. There are also ropes and chains within the mountain trail; it definitely gets one into a mountain climbing mood. The summit boasts a 360 panoramic view from the neighboring Toyama and the highest mountain peak in Chiba prefecture, Mt.Atago, to Tokyo Bay and the Izu Peninsula.
