Nihonji Temple

This is a 1,300-year-old temple located on the south side of the summit of Mt. Nokogiri. In the precincts, there are "Yakushi Ruriko Nyorai", the largest rock-carved Buddha in Japan, "Sengohyaku Rakan" where countless Buddha statues are enshrined, "Hyaku-shaku Kannon" which is about 30m high, etc. These are unique Buddha statues that cannot be seen elsewhere. Also, don't miss the "Jigoku-nozoki=hell peep" overlooking the precipitous cliffs. Although it is a low mountain with an altitude of about 300m, it is full of large-scale attractions. In addition to the mountain trail, you can also use the Nokogiriyama Ropeway to reach the summit. There is a wide variety of access methods. If you come to the Boso Peninsula, this is a must-see spot.
