Umanose Domon

This is a cave carved out by the erosion from waves over many years. At a height of eight meters, a width of six meters, and a breadth of two meters, you can feel the size and scale of it as you get closer. Early winter mornings are especially recommended. On a clear day, you can see the beautiful sunrise from the eastern sky through the cave. Furthermore, you can see Mt. Fuji painted in the morning sun! It is an amazing view that is sure to look good on Instagram. With a shortcut from the parking lot in front of the Prefectural Jogashima Park, to a four kilometer hiking course that takes you around the island, there are many routes to get to it. The road leading along the coast is narrow and steep, so care should be taken while visiting this spot.
