Tucked away just beyond climbing the world heritage site "Kumano Kodo Nakahechi Nagaozaka" is a bakery with a spectacular view of Tanabe Bay, the streets of Shirahama, and even Shikoku in the distance on a clear day. The owner, Akiyo Taguchi, makes each one by hand, and the types of bread offered vary from day to day. The baked goods stick to delicious ingredients without additives, which often sell out early. From the plum fields blooming in February to the colorful scenery of the orange fields in November, you can really feel the four seasons here. Not only can you take your purchased items with you, but you can also enjoy the breads in the shop or out on the terrace. Gateau Purapura (cake made with plum wine), a product chosen as "Premier Wakayama (officially recognized by the Wakayama Prefectural Government)" is also sold here, so be sure to try it.
