Akizuno Garten

Long known for producing delicious oranges, this is a facility located in the Kamiakizu district of Tanabe City. It includes a restaurant, accommodations, and a handmade sweets factory, as well as coworking spaces with wifi on site. The simple buffet lunch at the ""Mikanbatake"" restaurant is very popular, with its nostalgic old wooden school building reminiscent of the Showa period. The menu also features ""Okaisan (tea porridge)"", which is even enjoyed daily by locals.
Over 80 types of citrus fruits are grown in the surrounding area, and you can experience farming by picking oranges or harvesting plums. You can also experience making jam and rolled cakes from locally produced citrus fruits. Akizuno Garten also serves as the starting point for the ""Kumano Hayagake-michi"", the road to the World Cultural Heritage Site, ""Kumano Kodo-Shiomi Pass Crossing"", so it is also recommended for trekking and touring.
