You can get seasonal products available only at certain times whenever you visit the JA Kinan Direct Market. Being the largest of its kind in Wakayama Prefecture, over 400 contracted farmers line the aisles with their fresh agricultural products from the nearby outskirts of Tanabe City all the way to Kushimoto in the south. The area is known for its citrus fruits and over 50 varieties line the aisles almost all year-round, with the exception of August. JA Kinan's original products, such as reasonably sized plums and dried citrus fruits are said to be very popular, even attracting the attention of consumers in France, the birthplace of cuisine. Among not only the citrus fruits and vegetables but also the colorful flowers and such, you are sure to find something you like that you won't normally find elsewhere as you stroll around the store.
